Sri Vijaya Puram (Port Blair), Andaman & Nicobar Islands | 29 July 2026
With an aim to inspire greater public participation in keeping the islands clean and environmentally responsible, Mukta Dhara Society, in collaboration with Dweep Tulika News, has launched the Clean Andaman Reel Challenge 2026.
The campaign, based on the theme "My Andaman, My Responsibility," invites residents of all age groups to create and share short Instagram reels highlighting the importance of cleanliness, environmental conservation and responsible civic behaviour.
Participants are required to create a 30–60 second reel and post it on Instagram by collaborating with @muktadharasociety. Entries may be submitted under any of the six categories: Before & After, Awareness, Art, Comedy, Cinematic, Children and Family Participation.
According to the organisers, the initiative seeks to encourage creative storytelling while promoting awareness about maintaining clean public spaces and protecting the natural beauty of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The evaluation will focus on creativity, the effectiveness of the message and the overall impact of the content.
Selected entries will be featured through the platforms of Dweep Tulika News and Mukta Dhara Society, providing participants with an opportunity to showcase their creativity while contributing to a social cause.
The winners of the competition will be announced on 15 August 2026.
The organisers have appealed to citizens, students, families, content creators and social media users across the islands to participate actively and spread the message that a cleaner Andaman begins with individual responsibility.
