Palnadu, Andhra Pradesh, 26 January 2026:

A student of ABC CBSE School in Andhra Pradesh delivered a powerful speech on equality, justice, and civic responsibility during a school event, earning widespread appreciation from the audience.

The institution, established in 1982, is regarded as the first English-medium school in the Palnadu region.

Opening with the line, “I do not stand here to comfort you, I stand here to disturb you,” the student emphasized that republics weaken not because of external threats, but when citizens stop questioning injustice.

Referring to the ideals of the Constitution of India, the speech questioned whether equality before law is genuinely practiced in society. The student highlighted issues such as gender bias, caste discrimination, and prejudice based on appearance, pointing towards the gap between constitutional values and everyday social realities.

The speech also addressed societal hypocrisy, stating that while equality is taught in classrooms, discrimination often continues in daily life.

“We celebrate equality on paper, but practice discrimination in reality,” the student remarked.

Calling for greater civic awareness and moral courage, the speaker argued that justice and equality cannot survive through institutions alone and require active participation from citizens.

The speech concluded with a message urging introspection and responsibility among individuals: “Stop asking what the Republic can do for you, start asking what you are doing for the Republic.”

The address was widely appreciated for its clarity, conviction, and relevance, with many describing it as a strong reflection on democracy, citizenship, and social responsibility.
