The National Students' Union of India (NSUI) has raised concerns regarding alleged negligence in waste management at Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya (JNRM), Sri Vijaya Puram.
According to Y Arvind Rao, a large quantity of garbage was reportedly found dumped near the bike parking area close to Gate No. 2 of the college campus.
He alleged that the waste had not been cleared for a considerable period and that sanitation measures were inadequate, raising concerns over hygiene and potential health risks for students.
Rao further stated that a complaint has been submitted to the Sri Vijayapuram Municipal Council (SVPMC), urging immediate intervention and clearance of the waste.
He warned that if prompt action is not taken, stronger measures may be adopted to highlight the issue publicly.
Describing the situation as an “irresponsibility of the college management,” Rao emphasized the need for proper maintenance and sanitation within educational institutions to ensure a safe and healthy environment for students.
